Mmmm. It should be so easy to make WT deliciously disappear.

WT to Brethren: "Are you still spreading our recently exposed lies that we were forced to change to save ourselves from utter embarassment? (Watchtower -April 15, 2013 page 9)
by Calebs Airplane inof course, that question was softened up and changed to:.
"is your teaching up-to-date?
" (see illustration on page 9).

Does that mean that the JWs should all throw away their Reasoning books?

From an ethics point of view, I would think that the teenager should be exposed to some facts before their refusal of blood would be taken seriously. In particular, JWs need to be informed that the biblical law is simply a dietary restriction which nobody was ever killed for. And the blood was only a sacred representation of life that should be poured on the ground if the blood was coming from a dead body. All donated blood comes from living donors, so doesn't have the same context as scriptural commands. And although JWs also would point at the command to "abstain from blood", the same verse says to "abstain from things sacrificed to idols." Only a couple of years later, Paul changed that to be a matter of conscience. Food sacrificed to idols was never really a matter of life and death, it was a matter of convenience and practicality. In modern times, donated blood can be a matter of life and death, wouldn't it even more become a matter of conscience? Wasn't the saving of a life more important than obeying sabbath restrictions?
And so much other information that teens are never exposed to in WT indoctrination.

April 15, 2013 Watchtower - p. 22-26: Organization-Obsessed Much???
by sd-7 inthere's a study article "make sure of the more important things", and in no uncertain terms the article makes clear that "jehovah's organization" is the most important thing.
the term "organization" or "jehovah's organization" is used a whopping 24 times in the article, including a subheading titled: "follow the example of jehovah's organization".
i thought organizations were entities, but that sort of subheading makes it seem like the organization is one giant person whose example we can follow.

My friend's conversation with a JW about me! Lol!
by TimothyT inone of my old friends from work, who i used to have lots of spiritual conversations with, messaged me on facebook before and told me how he had a call from the jws this morning.
here is our conversation from facebook when he told me what happened:.
my friend: any way funny thing today, some jehovos came to me door and we were having a chat and i told them i didnt agree with their religion saying i was biased because i had a friend who used to be one and was kicked out for being gay and how could they preach like love etc and be so discriminative and then said they would know you mentioned your name and he did know you, and has even been on holiday with you in the past.

A picture so outrageous, it deserves its own thread...
by cedars ini mean no disrespect to sd-7 or his fine thread on which this picture has already featured, but i think it is just so ridiculous that it deserves a thread all of its own.. lurkers and apologists, this is how your precious organization views itself.... behold the madness.... .

Of course you won't see Jesus in the picture, he's "invisibly present"! So he's in the picture, but you can't see him because he's invisible. Maybe if you use lemon juice on a print copy of the magazine you can see him.
This picture is going to be very useful to me. I've already had discussions with my parents about the clergy assembled by JWs, here on proud display. There is no scriptural foundation for their "organization". Paul clearly stated that "the head of the man is the Christ." He left no room for a series of middle managers to come between an individual and their relationship with Jesus. And what happens when a bunch of men assemble themselves into an "organization" that claims to be the only channel to God? You have idiots that misinterpret the Bible, teach false prophecies, and compromise the safety of children.

Bethel set up an appointment for me to see an outside, nonJW, psychiatrist for consultation and prescription. I could be somewhat honest with him, but was limiting what I said about the religion and my life in bethel. He was a nice guy, and helpful. The medication helped me feel somewhat better. I also saw the bethelite psychologist. I didn't click with him at all. Although he told me that I was free to tell him anything and it would be confidential... unless it was something of a judicial nature, how could I trust him? Even thoughts are subject to judicial review. So that was a waste of time. I talked about some issues from childhood, but he didn't seem to understand or get the point that it was the religion that was truly messing up my life.
Oh, and there were lots of us non-women with depression and on meds at bethel.
